Get ready for a full flavor blast! 🍗

@danosseasoning needs to be added to your spice rack pronto. It's so full of flavor and goes so well on not just chicken but veggies too.

It was so good the hubs said he wanted me to season all of our chicken with it from now on.

California Grilled Chicken and Veggies:

🍗 2 Chicken cuts of your choice, I used bone-in, skin-on thighs
🍗 3 Tbsp Avocado Oil
🍗 2 Garlic Cloves, minced
🍗 1/2 lime, Juiced
🍗 1/4 tsp Salt
🍗 1/8 Pepper
🍗 1 1/2 Tbsp Dan-O's Original Seasoning (for added spice use their Chipotle seasoning)

1️⃣ Combine all of the ingredients.
2️⃣ Marinade the chicken in the mixture, cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
3️⃣ Heat the grill on medium heat. Grill each side for 8-10 minutes undisturbed or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
4️⃣ Serve with grilled veggies of your choice.
5️⃣ Enjoy!

Sometimes you just need a big warm hug...

This week our area got hit with a big storm...snow, ice and freezing temps.

On days like this you just want a big warm hug from the inside out. One of my favorite cozy meals is congee (rice porridge) and it made mine so easily in a rice cooker.

This is my contribution to @crazychewyfun January theme Cozy Meals.

Here's how to make it in a rice cooker:

🍚 1/2 Cup of Rice
🍚 Two Chicken Thighs or 1 Breast
🍚 2 Cups Chicken Broth (I like @kettleandfire Tumeric Ginger Bone Broth for the added flavor, see link in bio for discount)
🍚 3 Cups of Water
🍚 1 Garlic Clove, smashed
🍚 1in Ginger knob, cleaned and peeled
🍚 1 Tbsp Fish Sauce

1️⃣ Wash and rinse your rice.
2️⃣ Add all ingredients to your rice cooker.
3️⃣ If your rice cooker has a porridge setting use it! If not, turn on your cooker and leave the lid open for 45 mins.
4️⃣ Give the pot a stir, close the lid and keep on warm for another 10-15 mins.
5️⃣ Remove the chicken from the pot and shed with a fork, stir it back into your pot or served as a topping.
6️⃣ Serve with pok floss, preserved eggs, scallions, fresh cracked pepper and/ yu tiao(Chinese fried bread)
7️⃣ Enjoy!

My favorite kind of meals are the kind that look like you toiled away in the kitchen when it really only took you a few minutes to throw together.

🍣 2 Pouches Starkist Sweet & Spicy Tuna
🍣 1/4 Cup Kewpie Mayo

🍣 1 Cup Sushi Rice, cooked (i mix 1 Tbsp rice vinegar, 2 tsp sugar)
🍣 1/4 Cup Furikake
🍣 1/2 Avocado Sliced
🍣 Spicy Mayo
🍣 Sesame Seeds

🍣 Seaweed Snack Sheets

1️⃣ Preheat Oven to 500°F
2️⃣ Combine tuna and mayo
3️⃣ Layer your vake ingredients evenly in an oven safe dish: Rice, Furikake, Tuna mix, Avocado, Spicy Mayo, Sesame Seeds
4️⃣ Broil for 4-5 minutes
5️⃣ Serve with Seaweed snack sheets.
6️⃣ Enjoy!

I can't believe it's 2026 already! Time sure does fly and what a packed year it was!
