Switch up your breakfast routine with a Breakfast Quinoa Bowl!
Like oatmeal, it's high in fiber and you can dress it up with different toppings to keep it interesting. You can make them sweet or savory. It's such a versatile grain! I used Ancient Harvest quality quinoa that they've been perfecting since 1983!
The offer raw quinoa but also ready to eat in 90 mins microwaveable pouches for a quicker on the go meal.
1 Servings, Approx. 25 mins
What You'll Need
For the Quinao
¼ Cup uncooked Ancient Harvest Quinao
½ Cup Soy milk (or any other milk type you like)
1 Cinnamon stick
½ tsp Vanilla extract
Dash of salt
Toppings (optional, make it your own!)
Sliced almonds
Mixed berries
Cinnamon Sugar
Serving Size Tip: To adjust the portion of cooked quinoa, it's 1 part quinoa, 2 parts milk. For example 1 cup of quinoa, should use 2 cups of milk.
All You Need To Do
Rinse and drain your Ancient Harvest quinoa.
In a small sauce pan, add your quinoa and milk and bring it to a rolling boil then turn the heat down to low.
Cover it and let it simmer for 15 mins. DON'T WALK AWAY! Note: You don't want your quinoa to boil over. So when it starts to boil, remove it from the heat and give it a little stir. Place it back on the burner and repeat for 15 mins.
Remove the pan from the heat and let it stand for about 5 mins to allow the quinoa to absorb the rest of the liquids.
Spoon your quinoa into a bowl and add your toppings.
Enjoy!
