Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting (less sweet)

I'm not a huge fan of frosting because I find that most places make the frosting overbearingly sweet. So I like to cut down on the sweetness as much as I can so that I can enjoy the star of the show...the cupcake. Hope you enjoy this less sweet version of my lemon cream cheese frosting.

Yields approx 1Cup, Approx. 5 mins

What You'll Need

  • 4 ounces Cream Cheese, room temperature

  • 4 Tbsp lightly salted butter, room temperature

  • ½ Cup Confectioners Sugar

  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice

  • 1 tsp Lemon Zest

All You Need To Do

  1. In a large bowl, combine the cream cheese and butter on medium speed until smooth.

  2. Sift the sugar into the cream cheese mixture.

  3. Add lemon juice and zest.

  4. You can store this up to 1 week, refrigerated. Let it soften to room temperature before using.
